BODEGA VIÑATIGO

THE HISTORY OF VIÑÁTIGO

Viñátigo emerged in 1990 as a result of the generational shift in a family of small vine-growers, wine-producers of the north of Tenerife of several generations of tradition.

From the vineyard centennial of the estate of Cape Verde begins the journey of Viñátigo, where taking advantage of this family legacy, in a first moment it begins to improve the workings of traditional Listán blanco and Listán negro, in the old wine cellar located in the house of the grandparents, where he remained until 1997.

Starting this year we moved to the current facility, on the outskirts of the village of La Guancha, where conditions of work much better, it has been developed around the project of recovery and enhancement of the huge heritage wine of the Canary Islands.

BASED ON THE WORK AND THE EFFORT

Bodegas Viñátigo has based its project on the recovery and putting in value of the wider heritage varietal wine that exists in the Canary Islands.

The fruit of this work that we began at the end of the 90s we have managed to publicize and dignify numerous varieties: Gual, Marmajuelo, Vijariego, Tintilla, Slimy, Malvasía, etc.

All this effort has been carried out within the maximum respect for the environment, both in the field of viniculture, by applying sustainable farming techniques, as well as in the actual construction of the building of the winery, using local materials and designs in construction that minimize the energy consumption.
