DO Tacoronte-Acentejo
The region of Tacoronte-Acentejo is located on the northern side of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), has a longitudinal extent of 23 miles and a cultivated area of 2.422 acres of vineyards, representing the 40% of the cultivated area on the island of Tenerife and the 20% of the surface of the wine of the Canary islands, being the area most densely planted vineyards in the canary islands.
Tacoronte-Acentejo are some 1,800 wine growers who work the cultivation of the see With 48 wineries, bottlers, and our geographic territory spans the municipalities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, El Rosario, Tegueste, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo and Santa Úrsula.
The vineyards are located between 100 and 1,000 meters of altitude above sea level, and take advantage of the sun and the volcanic soil on which they develop. The plantations are located on terraces, on steep north-facing slopes and facing the sea. The soils are of reddish color, rich in organic matter, with a low proportion of lime, and abundant nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
Sun, breeze and the volcanic earth next to the sea in a diverse climate, benign and stable, are the natural and unique ingredients, that combine the amazing personality of our wines.
